This era saw an explosion of literature marketed towards this audience. Many of these manuals, guides, and treatises are now digitized and available to help us understand the historical perspective of motherhood and the act of mothering, and sometimes they offer us surprising insights and bust our own myths! Join living historian Betsy Watkins as she discusses her ongoing efforts to collect and catalog these resources, and what they can tell us about historical mothering.
